Privacy Policy for Seewe Chinese
Seewe Chinese ("the App") is a free iOS app that shows Chinese vocabulary on your lock screen.
The short version: your cards, progress, settings, and photos stay on your phone. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. If you send feedback, we get your email so we can reply. We never sell your information.
Who we are
Seewe Chinese is made by Havyn LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@seewechinese.com
What stays on your phone
Your cards, decks, review progress, settings, and doodles are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
Photos and the camera
If you turn a photo or screenshot into flashcards, the App asks for access first. The text is read on your phone, and your images are never uploaded or saved.
What goes over the internet
- Trending phrases. The App downloads a public list. Nothing about you is sent.
- Seewe Pro. If you subscribe, Apple handles payment, and RevenueCat checks that your subscription is active. Neither gets your cards or photos, and we never see your payment details.
- Feedback. If you send feedback, we get your message, your email address, and your app and iOS versions. We use your email only to reply, and the rest to fix things. Please keep private information out of your message.
Our hosting providers (Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple) can see your IP address when the App connects, as with any internet service. Their servers may be outside your country, including in the United States.
What we don't do
We don't track you, show ads, or sell or share your personal information (including under the California CCPA/CPRA).
Your rights
Delete any card or deck in the App, or delete the App to erase everything on your phone. The only personal information we hold is the email you give us with feedback. Under laws like the GDPR and CCPA you can ask what we hold or have it deleted. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
We keep feedback as long as it's useful, or until you ask us to delete it.
Good to know
- The lock-screen widget shows vocabulary without unlocking your phone, so keep sensitive things out of your decks.
- The App isn't aimed at children under 13 (16 in the EEA/UK), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If a child has sent us some, tell us and we'll delete it.
- If you've shared analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash statistics.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the App or release notes if the change is significant.
